Admin Any further word from Raj or the Capitola PD?

Numbers...did you ever answer my question about the two witnesses you claimed to find?

Oh sorry Shads, with all this excitement and work related things I totally missed your question.

I found both guys who claimed to see these things on other forums. One from UFOcasebook and one from an obscure non UFO related forum. The first says he saw it in the eastern Tahoe area where he lives and the second claims to have seen it in the Chico California area which is about 80 miles west of the Tahoe sighting.

As far as anyone wanting to get together a posse, I'm game but I think the odds of seeing one of these is extremely low. California is a big state. You simply have to be in the right place at the right time.

this is amazing :o :o

but that thing looks scary to me! :-[ what is that "zapper" thing on the bottom??

the lack of exif data is suspicious too :(

i'm replying in this thread because the blury one behind the flowers (the last pic) reminded me of a cgi creation someone made a million pages back. he was demonstrating how he could fake the photos by using the chad craft and pasting it into other scenes. one was from a bedroom window with the plants blurred out (i think) and the craft right outside, crystal-clear. it reminds me a lot of this last photo from bigbasin. i guess i could go back and look for it......
*30 minutes later* - i couldn't find it. i either saw it somewhere else, it's been removed by someone, or i missed it (99.9% impossible, i looked through every page) anyone know what i'm refering to?

i dont know what to think. this new craft looks real to me though.

on the yellow flowering shrub in the chad photo
« Reply #2177 on Today at 3:59pm »

I am relatively new to message boards, and I'm attempting to include an image with this post. Not sure if it will work. I apologize if this image is larger than it should be. Anyway here goes...

One simple way to demonstrate that any of these photos are hoaxes is to demonstrate that they could not have been taken when and where they were claimed to have been taken. There are a number of clues to use... weather conditions, topography, vegetation, etc. One of the Chad photos, for example, shows a large tree or shrub with yellow flowers in the foreground. If I am not mistaken, these photos were supposedly taken in April in the Lake Tahoe area [Mufon account], which raises two questions: 1) Does such a plant grow in the Sierra Nevada? 2) Does it bloom in April?

After a few hours of investigating these questions, I came to the preliminary conclusion that both can be answered in the affirmative, though I don't live in the area, and I'm a far cry from a botanist. I would welcome the input of anyone who is more knowledgeable in these things. One likely candidate is the California Flannelbush aka Fremontia [Fremontodendron californicum]. This plant is native to the Sierra, but the variety that grows in the Tahoe area (decumbens variety) only grows to a height of 2 ft. The shrub more closely resembles the Colville variety which can grow to heights of up to 9 m, but is problematic for two reasons: 1) I could not confirm that it grows near Tahoe (but see the distribution map in the graphic), and 2) According to the USDA, it blooms in late summer.

A second candidate is Scotch Broom [Cytisus scoparius], an invasive species, which I was able to confirm does grow in the Tahoe area and apparently blooms from April to June. In comparing various photos to the original Chad photo, I am more inclined to believe the shrub in the photo is Scotch Broom. The branch morphology coupled with the relative sizes of the leaves and blooms makes this the more likely candidate. So... based on this novice botanical analysis, I have to conclude that it is plausible that the photos were taken in the Tahoe area in April. While this analysis by itself does not reject the hoax hypothesis, it probably does not support the reality of the images either. It only suggest that the landscape photos could have been taken when and where they were claimed to have been taken.

A couple more notes... it seems to me that it should be possible to determine the approximate elevation at which these photos taken given the plant community present. Also, if these were taken in April in the Sierra Nevada, should there be snow cover on the ground? A little checking of weather records should determine this. Finally, the wildflower in the foreground of the Big Basin photo should be identifiable and a similar analysis can be done of that image.

this thread has arrived at another level, just imagine for a moment that we could send a probe to centaurus A ,it would need to have the ability to operate or be programmed to initiate many procedures within the intelligence of the creaters.the purpose has to be discovery the natural expansion of space and what is out there searching for answers.we are possibly within a 100 years of real space exploration ourselves .maybe less .everything about this craft is hoax or REAL .after years of vague sightings and reports disclosure and disinformation we have possibly arrived at a turning point in history .nobody has prooved these pictures fake ,so see it my way the first and second pics are elements of the third the whole a machine capablility beyond our reasoning alien ,but to myself not threatening [unless attacked ] its probably assessing cities and humans in stealth mode or will be seen over california in a fortnight .my suggestions are to anyone reading this who live within 4hours ,spend the weekend in big basin at a vantage point maybe buzzards roost 19000 square acres is a large area but i bet there is not much in the sky . if i personally lived there iwould do this if it were in the uk iwould be on top of a mountainwith camera in hand the unknwn is not fear ,lets face facts find the proof our selves or at least try must be better than arguing the odds between ourselves with no winner GOODLOOK TO ANY FORUM MEMBER WHO CAN GO THE EXTRA MILE

excellent post tucsonexpat, thanks for the effort.

been waiting for a good botany analysis and i'm surprised this has been beaten to death yet...

the only thing i can recall seeing online has been someone suggesting the yellow flowers might be almond trees.

earlier someone mentioned that perhaps this is connected to the transformers movie coming out. Up until now I totally though that was a lot of cow excre.... Looking at these new pictures which seem to me to be a combination of all three possible crafts I see where it could resemble part of one of the decepticons from the movie. There is a scene in the trailers where an enemy transformer rises out of the ground with spinning pincer like claws and other devices. You only see it for a second but the spinning arm at least in my recollection tends to look a lot like this third craft (fourth if we count the Tahoe photos)

Personally until today i believed this might be real. Human or else but now I don't know....

Thanks

looking on http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=115458 i found where these crafts are being called viral marketing for transformers. The very bottom of that page has one called soundbyte that looks like its made of parts of the craft and the next page has scorponok which is the one i was talking about in my earlier post. I TRULY HOPE these ships have nothing to do with the transformers movie.

Where on that thread are they being discussed as viral marketing? I couldn't find it on that site, though I know it's been discussed elsewhere.

Thanks!
