It may be viral marketing but saying the transformers movie is what it's for is stretching really far. None, and I mean none of the robots in this upcoming movie look anything like these. Besides, when they come to attack earth in the movie they don't come to earth in a ship, they hit the ground like meteors, from what the preview shows. I have heard many say the transformers theory but i can honestly say in my opinion, that this idea is stretching too far. If they closely resembled anything, anything at all that has come from the studio on this movie I would say there's a chance, but this has not happened. This stetches so far as to say disinfo on this would come in this form.
For me, I don't stretch an idea unless it has validity somewhere, I can find none whatsoever inthe transformer movie theory.

Good find Kidjim. The Soundbyte figure appears to contain several elements from the UFO. And we have seen it transform into three different configurations now...

The image was avalialble for a while but gone now (probably bandwidth issues) You can try http://tinypic.com/, anyway .. can you help me out a bit, Can you circle some of the elements that match up to the objects we've been discussing so far?

I don't think the thing is growing into a Soundbyte -- there are some similar shapes but mostly elongated triangles that are not that much alike at all.

@ fore -- The Canon Rebel XT was referenced in the shooter's email to the listserve lady as the "one he bought from Mark".

Damn. This link below isn't as good. In the original I could see hints of the circular body and the egg beater component. The 'standard mode' looks vaguely like the UFO. It certainly isn't a perfect match but there are some similarities.

I just don't see the connection here at all. Perhaps you can show us exactly where on the transformer pic you posted that there is a similarity to the Cali pics.

You got to be kidding me? You seem to be grasping at some really long straws now. How is this supposed to make people want to go see that lame ass movie any way? Anything but the truth, no matter our laughable it is.

I think this far fetched theory can be safely put to rest.

I do see a lot of angles and pointed items he is made of but almost too many to be transforming into a craft anything like the three of these, and remember, there are 4 configurations now, so unless soundbyte is gonna be the only transformer who transforms into multiple configurations with different masses, this idea is a little farfetched for this being marketing from Hollywood.

But farfetched sometimes has some base in reality. It is a reality that transformers comes out on 7-7-7 and there are three english earth based 7s on the arm of the first craft that I can see, and that's the only connection I can make at all to the movie so far, but I'll keep looking, curiosity sometimes answers the hardest questions easily.

There are better pics of Frenzy and Starscream on this page that bear a vague resemblance (in terms of components). I'm not claiming there is a perfect match, but OTOH everyone here would look pretty stupid if we were taken in by a PR campaign. I will note that the Transformers film opens in exactly one month from today (7/7/07).

http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/search/label/Frenzy

The viral marketing campaign for Aqua Teen Hunger Force (the Boston Mooninite 'bombs') and Halo 2's ilovebees are no wackier than this idea if it is indeed true (and it is pure speculation). From my limited knowledge of the Decepticons, they do arrive from outer space and hide in plain sight, right? I see nothing less valid about this speculation than farfetched theories about 'power maintenance drones' and the like.

Hiding in plain sight as normal vehicles of various sizes and shapes and makes sense and is what they do in the cartoon and they should do in the movie. But hiding in plain sight as 4 different vehicles with configurations never seen on earth is like painting a target on your back and running into a war zone naked screaming, "hey, you, just try and kill me, I dare ya!!!"
