There is a surprising amount of detail in these images. If it is computer generated, then presumably someone put a *lot* of time into them. I don't think it's reasonable to compare the amount of detail with what is on "demonstration" images made by Saladfingers and others. Does anyone really expect someone with those skills to spend potentially hundreds of hours perfecting a match just to satisfy die hard believers here? Would they ever be satisfied with any such demonstration? I think not.

Edited for caffeine deficiency driven typos.

Why wouldn't they? I will send and email with attached images explaining that we are investigating an alleged sighting. Can't hurt to try!

This forum is far more "welcoming" than Above Top Secret's. It would be a heck of a discussion if Open Minds had a debate with ATS.
Anyway, when it comes to these images, ATS is pro-hoax and OM is pro-real. Are the skeptics scared off by the believers on this forum and the appearance of Raj. A witness shows up and almost everyone wants to believe the images are real. I do not have a clue if these images are hoaxed or real. I'm just saying that we should all keep our skepticals on. I WISH THIS WAS AN ET DRONE, but black project seems far more realistic.

Being Friday today, I've got a feeling that new and insightful info from either Raj or the moderators will be presented on this board. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

I am not sure, how many of you might agree with this but, I think that taking this to the mass media will just sensationalise it. I mean, once they realise it will sell ad space, they will jump right on it like the O'hare siting.

And, believe me, they must all know about it by now. They sit and wait for the first one to go. Kind of like when you might go cliff diving with some friends for the first time. If the first few don't get smashed by the rocks at the bottom, they will all jump in.

Personally, I think that this needs to be investigated by the right people. Not a bunch of reporters who would otherwise just use the story to entertain the masses. And maybe make the witnesses look like fools.

I can already picture each and every big news agency making their own CG animations of the craft. And mixing it with dumb ufo stock footage. The mass media will just "UFO" the crap out of this.

The O'hare siting was kind of a test. See what happened?

As a representative of the openmindsforum, I sent an email to the Sentinel requesting any info and clarification they could offer. I will post their response if and when it comes! Keep the fingers crossed!

I don't think I ever expected to convince anyone either way. I created the model, the images, and the videos out of self interest. I just decided to share them. I find it interesting because I am teaching myself better ways of making convincing CG images.

I've had quite a few 'well done, slap on back for debunking this nonsense' type messages that I don't really appreciate. As the forum name suggests, I do actually have an open mind. I'm settled on my current opinion, but I'm still very willing to change my mind if the validity of eye witnesses and/or further images ring true.

If this did turn out to be real, I'd be more likely to say it is black op/military. The writing underneath is for the spectator to see... a kind of disinformation to convince the world it is from another planet. The same reasoning behind the writing if it was a hoax.

Lets see what Raj has to say.

Cheers

Kris

I agree with Kris's theory about the writing. It is probably just a diversion to create controversy between sci-fi nerds. Which I suggested before that it was incredibly and cleverly effective in doing.

As I mentioned in my E-mail to you on Youtube Kris... Great work on that animation. The hangers in the background were a nice touch.

I don't mean to insult you, because I know that you are looking for the truth like many of us. People that make these in the future might consider putting the words "EXAMPLE", or whatever in the video, so that people will not start new lines of questions based on disinformation created from something that in my opinion, really gave us a look at how this craft could operate in theory.

OM is neither 'pro-real' nor 'pro-hoax.' However I'd guess that at this point in time most members are leaning towards 'hoax'- just as ATS.

Whatever became of the comments posted by Steve who apparently is an investigator for MUFON, who jumped the gun with some statements about these reports being a hoax. I'm cutting and pasting his post here:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://forums.uforesearcher.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000091;p=2

Hi Tigre,

I apologize. I had to delete my posts related to the Capitola BS on the net. I shared publicly some of my findings, and Mufon thought it was premature to do so. I have saved the posts. Mufon thinks I should keep quiet publicly about the Capitola bogus images till the appropriate time. My passion in preventing seeing people deceived and perhaps manipulated by an unknown individual or agency on the Internet was my motive for posting my findings. It is no big deal, but when the time is right, I will spill all I know within my small station in this.

This computer generated image stuff has been the strangest case yet, and it does not even involve aliens!..but the internet! Bottom line...the images have all been checked by 4 experts, and all the images are all bogus as hell. lol

Steve

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -

Is it really true that MUFON is about to pronounce the Capitola sighting as a hoax? And based solely on analysis of the images?

By the way, to Onthefence: it looks to me like there are 16 spiky things on both the Chad and the Raj photos, not 12.

Has anybody heard any more from Chad? In his early comments, he was saying he saw this thing 8 times and many of his neighbors saw it. It would be interesting to put some of these Raj questions to him.

A perfect example of why you should call 911 to report a sighting instead of posting it on the internet.

The answer rests within Steve Comments...
Quote Steve : "I shared publicly some of my findings, and Mufon thought it was premature to do so. (...)
Mufon thinks I should keep quiet publicly about the Capitola bogus images till the appropriate time."
What if "bogus" is only Steve's one more comment...
Speaking about his "findings" : the guy produced a wrong NOOA weather report (7 hours ahead of the Capitola sighting).

I went back and looked at the initial Chad report to C2C,

http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page2022.html?theme=light

as well as the MUFON report by Chad's wife.

http://mufoncms.com/cgi-bin/manage_sighting_reports.pl?mode=view_long_desc&id=7013

There are some inconsistencies. Chad says they saw the object while on a walk, while Chad's wife says that saw it outside of a cabin they were renting, and she sent her husband, presumably Chad, to get the cell phone.

The wife in the MUFON report makes it sound like this was a single sighting on a visit to an unfamiliar place, while Chad talks about seeing it 8 times, revisiting the site with friends, and it doesn't sound like the sighting happened on any kind of vacation.

Does this seem odd to anyone?

There are some inconsistencies.

This 'Long Description of Sighting Report' by a woman is a different Case !!! It has nothing to do with Chad and his pregnant wife. That's another story.
